I didn't know I needed to read this. But now that i have, I don't think I'll ever be able to forget what I just learnt. It'll be hard to make excuses again. Unless it's for dark chocolate ice cream. That doesn't need an excuse. Why are resources being wasted on coconut ice cream?

Good one Pious! Your write up reminded me of a conversation I was having with someone who had mindset of "I will be happier when I am at xyz stage in life."

Took me a lot of time to convince her that she doesn't need to wait for that stage of life- it all begins this very second, with you.

Grateful that somebody picked up blogging the old school way. Keep writing.

That's an interesting perspective, Pious. Personally, I have frequently bought a book, or a course or made some other purchase which did not eventually add the value I had anticipated it would. However, there are also times when the emergence of an external entity radically improves the situation. This entity could be a new team member, a powerful computer, a useful book, or the presence of a person who is an inspiring influence in a specific field of expertise. Such entities can be abstractly perceived as devices that we can use, with some skill, to resolve, or expedite the resolution of our problems. Of course, to expect the device to be a panacea that can work in isolation without our skillful handling I have generally found to be a mistake.

Hey Utsav, I agree that tools like you mentioned not only help us, but make things often. The problem is that we sometimes give too much importance to those tools and give our personal power them. If we stay aware that it is us only that is responsible for solving our problems, and we are merely using tools to help us - then it works well.
